This year, the top Essence trim comes standard with a 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that creates 155-horsepower. This model also now comes standard with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Last year, all models come standard with the 1.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 137-horsepower. This engine continues to pair with a continuously variable transmission.
You also have new paint options to consider this year. Cinnabar Metallic, Rosewood Metallic, Sunset Glow Metallic and Sapphire metallic are all available for the 2022 Buick Encore GX.
The things that have set the Buick Encore GX apart from other options in previous model years remain in the 2022 model. Standard technology features include an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot, satellite radio, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There are also standard safety features to enjoy, including lane departure mitigation and forward-collision mitigation.
In total, there are three trim levels available for the 2022 Encore GX. If you step up to the Select, your SUV gains features like roof rails and blind-spot monitoring. On top of getting the more powerful engine standard, the Essence trim comes with extras like driver's seat memory settings and leather upholstery, among other things.
