There are many benefits to going with a new GMC model. Not only will you get a powerful, tech-savvy, even luxurious vehicle, you will have great peace of mind knowing that it is protected with warranty coverage. So, what is covered in a GMC powertrain warranty? Key Buick GMC goes over what you need to know.
Numerous Components Covered
Every new GMC model comes with a powertrain warranty good for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. For the duration of the warranty, this covers repairs for parts due to defects in materials or workmanship. These include:
- Engine: The engine block, cylinder head, oil pump, and manifolds are all covered. Timing gears, seals, and gaskets are as well.
- Transmission: Mounts, seals, gaskets, and the transmission case get warranty protection.
- Drive Systems: The warranty also covers propeller shafts, final-drive housings, axle shafts, and universal joints.
In addition, GMC models come with a bumper-to-bumper warranty that is good for three years or 36,000 miles. This covers even more components, such as the steering, air conditioning and heating, and electrical system.
What’s Not Covered with Your GMC Powertrain Warranty
While your powertrain warranty covers a lot, it’s important to understand that it doesn’t cover everything. For example, any issues related to wear and tear won’t be included. In addition, there isn’t coverage for things like hoses, cooling lines, the radiator, and sensors.
