What Is Super Cruise®?
Super Cruise is a system that utilizes the most advanced hands-free driving technology. In certain circumstances, you can take your hands off the steering wheel and let your vehicle do the steering, acceleration, and braking.
Is Super Cruise a Subscription?
One of the great things about Super Cruise is that you can try it out for a while for free. In order to get it, you need OnStar®, and all Super Cruise-equipped vehicles include this for three years. When this trial period ends, you will need to purchase a plan to keep it going.
What Are the Features Included in Super Cruise?
Once you start using Super Cruise, you won’t want to drive without it. It works on more than 600,000 miles of mapped roads in the U.S. and Canada. And this doesn’t just include interstates, but local highways and bypasses as well.
In order to provide a hands-free driving experience, it uses the most advanced technology, including LiDAR maps, GPS, cameras, and radar. This helps ensure that your vehicle maintains a safe following distance from the car in front of you.
Another great feature of Super Cruise is that it will recognize if you are towing something. Your car will automatically lengthen the gap between you and the vehicle ahead to allow for extra stopping distance.
